How do i change the "slide 1" title. i would like to change it to Verse 1 and so on.

You can use Labels.
In the Settings menu you can define the labels and on the slide editor you can add the label to the slide ( its next to the Slide template dropdown menu).

I am trying to change a power point that i imported.
PowerPoints cannot be edited within Presenter. It must be edited in PowerPoint and reuploaded into Presenter
