Slide Master font sizes

I've worked out how to create and name a new template but when I select this things still import at the default font size so 22pt which is too small; if I start by using the blank or if I use title and content to start the title stays at 72pt which is too big for my needs
Can I create a Master that is just what I need? (As one can do for songs)

Design a slide the way you want, then right-click on its thumbnail from the right slides deck and save it as a template.

Tank you for reply; I wasn't clear enough - I've done the right click and save thing
The saved template puts the new text in the saved text boxes of the new size and position but uses the font and point size from the original master
