Can't Add Songs While Looping

I have several announcement slides that loop. While they are looping, I'm not able to add scriptures or songs. The loop kicks me out of those screens. Hitting pause button does only stops the looping while I'm on the the song slide. As soon as I leave, the looping starts and I can't do anything.
