How can I apply an audio or video background against a number of foreground slides (play audio across a range of song slides)?

I'm trying to run text slides with hymn/song verses (1 verse per slide) across a single audio/video track. Could be 5-10 slides...
Is this possible? If so, how?

If the slides are in the same cue, then the audio will play across all the slides in that cue.
