Presenter operating on a LInux Mint system?

January 9, 2025
Is it possible to run Presenter on Mint Linux? I see that there is only an AppImage available for Ubuntu/Debian.

Linux Mint is (I think) a derivative of Debian. The AppImage file should work. At least it does on my LM laptop.

We are using Presenter on several computers that are too old to run Windows 11. Presenter works fine under Mint 20 & 21 Cinnamon. The reason we are using those old computers is that most of our worship team were using only Smartphones or tablets and could not upload songs, readings, and PowerPoints to the Presenter Order of service, so we had to provide them with "loaner" computers since there is no mobile version of Presenter. It is a little tricky to find and download the Appimage, but once installed it seems identical to the Windows version. My concern is that Worship Tools seems no longer to advertise Linux compatibility, and I hope that doesn't mean they are giving up linux support. With the "forced" upgrade to Windows 11, I suspect there could be a large need to use older computers with Worship Tools.

Where do you find the appimage?
I have tried searching and may just not be looking in the right place.
Thank you.

If you use a Linux computer to access the Worship Tools Presenter download page, it offered the choice "download for Linux". You won' t see that option if you are using a windows or Mac computer. I'm told it also shows that same prompt if you try to download for Chromebook, but I haven't tried that myself. Once you have the App Image downloaded, use your linux loader to install it. It will show up in your "all apps" view, but if you try to create a link on the desktop, it will be a narrow link box but doesn't have the Presenter Icon but it will still launch from there.

I have tried loading the Presenter download page while running Linux mint, and the Download for linux option wasn't visible anywhere. Has this option been removed?
