HDR Video Overexposed

March 1, 2025
I used Presenter, a week ago, to play a series of videos.
One video was way overexposed.
I asked the person that made the video if it was shot it HDR and he said it was.
I wonder if Presenter doesn't know what to do with HDR content.
Here are some screenshots.
The Presenter/VLC images are from the switcher output recording.

I had a mix of video formats (8-bit and 10-bit, h.264 and h.265, .mp4 and .mov).
This was the only file that had issues.
It was 10-bit, 4:2:0, .mov, but there was another file with a similar format and it played fine.
I did have to transcode the file, with Handbrake, due to Presenter not being able to import it.
I had to do that with multiple files, though, so I don't think that was the issue.
When I first tried to import it, I let Presenter do the conversion.
The bitrate was quite a bit lower than I wanted, though (I think 2.5mbps).

I don't know if it's a bug or if no one has tried playing HDR content before (it might not even be because of HDR).
I know it messed up the film festival that I was working, though.
