Rich Text Tags

July 2, 2021
Is it possible to use rich text tags within a text box to format some words/sentences within the text box differently to text box default. I know I can always highlight and modify words, however what I mean is using start and end tags to change the words between them to, for example, Bold or a different colour.

Hi John. I deleted my last message just to rephrase it a bit. Rich text editing is built into the buttons on Presenter, so you will have to highlight and modify the words that way. Presenter does not have support for rich text editing in the way you're inquiring about. For example, you wouldn't be able to type <b> text </b> in the text box to bold the word between the opening/closing tags. The tags would just project as part of your slide (as I'm sure you've witnessed).

Joann, It is unfortunate that you can't do this. The slides text editor is, perhaps, the weakest part of Presenter. If you want to copy and paste liturgy into it you have to work out how much to copy because you can't extend it across slides. Yes, you can highlight and change font, size and weight, but the colour picker is not good. Selecting the same colours (in out case Yellow and White) consistently is a problem. The Hex option in the colour picker is bugged and there is no way to select frequently used colours. Tags is a way round this. It would be nice to see improvements to the text editor and a complete overhaul of the colour picker.
