Can't see PPT or PPTX files when file browsing in Import Media

July 15, 2026
I'm using Presenter Version 2026.1.0-beta.22 on:

Edition Windows 11 Pro
Version 25H2
Installed on ‎22/‎04/‎2025
OS build 26200.8655
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.315.0

When I choose +Import Media and use the file browser to find my PowerPoint(s) to import I can only see files with Image, Video or Audio file extensions (i.e. files of type PPT or PPTX are hidden by default). Very frustrating!!

I'm trying to learn how to best use PowerPoint from within Presenter as last Sunday our AV team had serious delay issues switching between Presenter and PowerPoint.
Presenter wouldn't "let go" so that the PowerPoint could be the projected application.

We don't use Google Slides and have no interest in doing so as we utilise the Microsoft ecosystem.

At this point I'm seriously regretting upgrading to the new version of Presenter!!

Hi Philip,

Sorry to hear about the frustration.

Regarding being unable to find the imported PPT document - The new version of Presenter imports PPT documents as Slides, as a way to allow even quicker editing of your slides natively in Presenter. Please check under Slides to locate the imported docs. If you're unable to find them, let us know.

In regards to the issue you experienced with the Presenter/PPT interplay - Since the support channel allows for better file sharing, please reach out to us at [email protected].

Thanks!

Hi Luke,

I can't even import my PPTX files into new Presenter for them to be available to use/find as Slides.
When trying to +Import Media, the Windows File Explorer pop-up limits the visibility of file types I can select to import into Presenter (i.e. I can't see files of type .ppt or .pptx listed that I know are in the folder I have browsed to).

I saw in another post that as of today, the new Presenter isn't actually ready for everyday use because it is still very buggy.
As such, we have decided to revert back to the previous stable version of Presenter.

As a relatively tech knowledgeable person, I ASS-U-Me-d that as WorshipTools has presented the "beta" version as the main download option on the Presenter product page that it would be a relatively stable offering. Sadly this is not the case.

It would be helpful if this was made clearer to prospective new customers / upgraders, as the WorshipTools app suite is great value for money with functionality other church software doesn't provide. It would be a shame to put people off with a bad experience of software that seems to still be undergoing significant development.

Maybe you could change your terminology.
(e.g.
The "Download Legacy Presenter" link becomes...

"Download stable release (2025.1.1)" with an additional note underneath
"A stable release is a version of Presenter that is well tested and considered appropriate for every day use."

I borrowed this idea from the Download GnuCash page https://www.gnucash.org/download.phtml
)

That said, I like the changes I see in the new version and am looking forward to it's stable release version.
No more Beta testing for us!!

Philip, as mentioned from Luke, you are looking in the wrong spot to upload PPT. You need to click slides, then add slides, then finally 'import PowerPoint/Keynote'. You are trying to 'find' the PPT from a way that is only for images/videos.
