I want to create a new song using words we have saved in Word. Do I have to copy section by section or will presenter automatically separate into a number of slides

You'll need to copy it in section by section. And I suggest you first copy the entire song to a text file, to get rid of the many formatting characters that Word inserts. I don't know if they cause problems for Presenter, but they do for many programs, and it's easy to do. In Presenter, start by going to Songs > Create new (in green, in the upper right corner of the songs window). Just follow the prompts and you should be fine.
