Offline Mode

All three of WorshipTools' apps sync over the Internet to stay updated with the latest versions of your services. However, there may be times when you need to run the apps offline. For example, some churches may not have internet access at their location, or there may be rare WiFi outages in the area. To accommodate these situations, the WorshipTools Presenter and Charts apps include an offline mode, allowing you to continue your service without an internet connection.

Presenter

When you first start Presenter, it will give you the option to run in Offline Mode if you’re not connected to the Internet. In Offline Mode, you can create new services or open existing ones. While creating new services, you will have access to most features, though some functions like playing YouTube videos, importing from SongSelect, syncing Google Slides, and others that require an internet connection will be unavailable. When you open existing services, Presenter will load the most recent version that it accessed while connected to the Internet.

To work around the lack of an internet connection at your church, you can activate a mobile hotspot briefly to allow Presenter to send and receive data from the cloud. Be sure to provide Presenter with at least a few minutes of internet access to sync successfully.

Charts

While using the Charts mobile app to view service setlists, the app caches data from each service you open. Essentially, this means it temporarily saves data from the setlists onto your device so you can access them offline. However, only setlists that were recently accessed (and cached) while you were last connected to the Internet will be available for selection offline. If you need to check or clear your cache, you can do so on the Charts settings page.

When online, keep setlists open for a few minutes to allow the data to be cached. If you go offline before the data is saved, you may not be able to access the setlist offline.

To use Offline Mode, make sure you are logged into your church's Presenter and Charts apps. You can remain logged in even when the app is closed. If you are not logged in before your device goes offline, you will not be able to access Offline Mode. In this situation, it is recommended to connect to a mobile hotspot or another network, if possible, to log back in and access your materials. After you have signed in, you can disconnect from the Internet.
