Format Settings

In Charts by WorshipTools, there are various view options you can modify per each song:

To get to these options, open the song from the service and then click on the song title at the top of the Charts app. This article will walk through the Format options.

Format Settings

Below are the Format Settings that you'll find when you click on the title of a song at the top of your Charts app screen. Some Format Settings may only appear when you have certain sources selected. Format Settings are per user per song, so Format Settings set by one user will not affect others on the team. Similarly, Format Settings made on one song will not affect other songs, but those settings will save to that specific song for future use, until changed.

Capo: Capo is a transposition tool. It allows users to change the key of their chord chart or sheet music. However, the difference between the Capo setting and the Key setting is that Capo will not affect others on the team. So, if a musician wants to change the key of their music without affecting their teammates' charts, they will use the Capo setting to do so.

Note: You want to move the Capo setting in the opposite direction of the musical scale. So, if you are moving 2 half steps up from C to D (+2), then you'll set the Capo setting in Charts to 10 (0-2) instead of 2.

Chart Type: This setting is specifically for chord charts. By default, charts are displayed in standard letter chords. However, you have the option to view charts in Nashville Number System, Movable Do-Re-Mi (solfège), or Fixed Do-Re-Mi if you prefer any of those formats.

There is a default setting for Chart Type in the main Charts Settings if you would like all your charts to be displayed in a specific format.

Octave Shift: This setting appears when you are viewing a SongSelect® Lead Sheet or Vocal Sheet. It allows you to shift the octave of the sheet music up or down as needed. This is typically helpful when you've applied a key change to the music.
